Spring Exhibition in Mashiko, Japan - 15th April - 15th May

The theme in focus of the Spring Exhibition at Wagner Nándor Foundation was Corpus Hungaricum. The fate of this art piece is very special. Nándor Wagner created it during the early 50-ies as a self given task instead of committing suicide. After his emigration to Sweden in 1956, the model was saved by his friends and spent 50 years in the storage of Saint Steven Museum in Székesfehérvár. It was recovered and cast in bronze. Since 1999 the National Mourning Day of Hungary is remembered at Corpus Hungaricum. Now the copy of Corpus will return to his atelier soon.
